Therapy and Church on the Alpine Loop

Therapy and Church on the Alpine Loop // WWW.THEJOYBLOG.NET

Are you like me? Do you regularly feel so cluttered in your brain because the world is full of noise? Logos on every building, billboards blocking your view of the trees along the road. Cars blocking out the beautiful sounds of nature. High-rise buildings blocking your view of the horizon. Obvious signs of human civilization everywhere you turn.

Sometimes, I just need to clear my head, look around and not see anything created by humans, and just breathe.

Inhale.
Exhale.

Inhale.
Exhale.

And listen.

Listen to the magical sound of quiet.

The breeze rustling through the leaves in the trees, the birds chirping in the distance, the sound of air moving around freely, and often you can hear water somewhere. Somewhere down in that lush greenery is an ecosystem untouched by humans. An ecosystem that has been living successfully for millennia, without us.

Sometimes, I just need to feel small, to remind myself that I am a part of something bigger, and more beautiful.

This is my church. This is the place that I feel connected to the divine, and connected to the earth. Here is where time slows down, and has no purpose. The air enters my lungs easily, and unfettered. The light touches my eyes with its brilliant radiance, and I can see clearly that this world is a place that was never meant to be torn down and molded to human perfections. We were meant to coexist, and take care of each other.

This place can exist without us, but we can't exist without this place.

This is where my soul calms down - my anxious, always needing control, tired self - and heals. My heartbeat slows down to a calm rhythm, but my energy levels rise and I feel renewed.

Inhale.
Exhale.

Inhale.
Exhale.

This is where I am truly who I was meant to be.

Here I am whole.

++ Where do you go to feel connected to yourself, and to get away from the noise of the everyday?

  1. Oh my gosh, I love this! We just recently moved to the country in WI and I feel like we're finally "home." The country is completely in alignment with who my husband and I are. By the way, hey there! I found you on the Blog Loft, I believe. Just went to follow on Bloglovin?

    1. Hey! So glad you stopped by. I hear Wisconsin is gorgeously green. Out here in Utah it's a desert kind of lush... no humidity, and things are more dull green than humid places. It's still one of my favorite places though. I do envy the places that get a lot more rain, and have such insane greenery. It's just beauty that is unrivaled. Thanks for following me on Bloglovin!
